YouTube launches branded series focused on creator storytelling

by | Apr 10, 2026 | News

YouTube has launched a new branded series, Channeling, aimed at exploring the trajectories and creative approaches of some of the platform’s most influential creators.

The premiere episode, available on the platform’s own channel, focuses on Germán Garmendia, one of the most successful Spanish-language creators on YouTube.

Garmendia, whose channels collectively have generated more than 23 billion views, is widely recognised for his scale and longevity on the platform. His achievements include a Guinness World Records title and recognition by TIME as one of the internet’s most influential figures. In 2024, his gaming-focused channel JuegaGerman surpassed 50 million subscribers, becoming one of the first Spanish-language channels to receive YouTube’s Ruby Play Button. He is also among a small group of creators globally to operate two channels exceeding 40 million subscribers.

The episode traces Garmendia’s evolution from scripted comedy on HolaSoyGerman to the more spontaneous, gameplay-driven format of JuegaGerman. A central theme is the role of audience feedback in shaping his creative direction. Garmendia emphasises an ongoing dialogue with viewers as a key driver of adaptation and growth.

In addition to the interview, the episode is supported by a visual campaign that positions Garmendia with the aesthetics of a competitive athlete, underscoring themes of discipline, performance, and endurance in the creator economy. The accompanying imagery is distributed via YouTube’s social channels.

Channeling is part of YouTube’s broader effort to spotlight creator storytelling and codify best practices for sustained audience engagement at scale. The first episode has already dropped, with more to follow.
