TellyCast has today revealed the shortlists for the second edition of the Digital Video Awards, the fast-growing awards programme that celebrates excellence, creativity and innovation in digital-first production and distribution.
This year’s edition sees a strong line up of finalists across its 23 categories, underlining the dynamic evolution of the digital content landscape. In total, around 100 entries are competing this year, with participants including ITV Studios, Channel 4’s 4Studio, the BBC, Banijay Entertainment, Hearst Networks, Cold Glass Productions, After Party Studios, Spirit Studios and Wall of Entertainment.
As in its inaugural year, the prestigious Studio of the Year category has attracted some high quality candidates and is expected to be closely contested, reflecting the increasingly blurred lines between traditional production powerhouses and digital-native innovators. The format and channel categories have also attracted strong interest, showcasing a broad spectrum of genres, platforms and creative approaches.
Justin Crosby, founder of TellyCast, said: “In just its second year, the Digital Video Awards has established itself as a key event in the content industry calendar. The sheer diversity and quality of submissions highlight how quickly this sector is evolving. From leading studios to emerging creators, we’ve seen bold experimentation with formats, platforms and storytelling. The shortlists reflect the vibrancy of the digital-first ecosystem, and we’re excited to bring the industry together again to celebrate that.”
While YouTube remains a dominant platform among nominees, this year’s shortlist also reflects the importance of TikTok, Instagram, FAST channels and mobile-first platforms, as well as innovation in AI-driven production and micro drama apps.
Judged by a panel of leading industry experts, the awards recognise those pushing boundaries in storytelling, audience engagement and creative execution across digital and social platforms. Alongside honours for studios, channels and formats, categories span branded content, podcasts and emerging platform strategies. The Unsung Hero award once again highlights the individuals making an impact behind the scenes.
The Digital Video Awards ceremony will take place on May 21st at The Londoner Hotel in London’s Leicester Square. “It’s shaping up to be a superb event again this year,” added Crosby. “It’s a great platform to celebrate the full breadth of talent driving the digital video industry.”
