Sony Pictures Television is expanding its classic Jeopardy! gameshow franchise with a new digital-first spinoff set to launch exclusively on YouTube, marking a broader push to grow the brand’s presence on streaming and social platforms.

Entitled Jeopardy! YouTube Edition, the series will debut on March 31 on the show’s YouTube channel. The spinoff will be hosted by Ken Jennings and retain the core gameplay format, while incorporating categories and clues rooted in internet culture and the platform’s creator ecosystem.

The first episode will feature a lineup of digital-native talent, including Monét X Change, Rebecca Black and Brennan Lee Mulligan, each competing on behalf of a selected charity.

The launch forms part of a wider strategy by Sony Pictures Television to extend the reach of one of its most established formats to younger, digitally engaged audiences. The company has collaborated with creative agency We Are Social on the relaunch of the show’s YouTube channel and supporting campaign.

The spinoff will incorporate platform-specific elements, including video clues from creators and categories spanning viral trends and YouTube’s two-decade history, positioning the format within a more interactive and socially native environment.

Kevin Allocca, global head of culture and trends at YouTube, framed the initiative as part of a broader convergence between traditional TV formats and digital-first content. “Blurring the lines between a traditional broadcast format and a new era of digital consumption results in something that’s fun for both new fans and old ones,” he said. “Seeing Jeopardy! intersect with YouTube creators underscores how the two can amplify each other in ways that feel surprisingly authentic and are a testament to the enduring relevance of these formats.”
