Netflix unveils redesigned mobile experience and tests short-form ‘Clips’ feed

by | May 5, 2026 | News

Netflix has introduced a revamped mobile interface alongside a new vertical video feature, Clips, as part of a broader push to improve content discovery on smartphones.

The company said the update is aimed at making it “faster, easier, and more fun to find something you’ll love to watch, listen to, or play,” building on a recent overhaul of its TV interface. The mobile redesign emphasises simplified navigation and a vertical, visually driven browsing experience tailored to phone usage.

Central to the update is Clips, a personalised feed of short-form videos drawn from series, films and specials. The feature surfaces highlights and enables quicker decision-making without extended browsing. Users can add titles to their list, share clips via messaging or social platforms, and explore recommendations from the feed.

Netflix said it plans to expand Clips over time to include additional formats such as podcasts, live programming and genre-based collections.

“Mobile is an important part of how Netflix members stay connected to the entertainment they love,” said Elizabeth Stone, Netflix’s chief product and technology officer. “With our enhanced navigation and Clips, we’re building on past learnings to deliver an experience designed for the way members want to enjoy Netflix on their phones: for the moments in between, to discover a new title, or a quick laugh. Our vision is to make our mobile experience as entertaining as what you watch, delivering increasingly personalised, immersive experiences for any mood or moment.”

The updated mobile experience is rolling out first in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines and South Africa, with a broader global rollout planned in the coming months.
