Paramount-backed MTV and Comedy Central have continued their investment in digital originals, with a new show and a renewal dropping this autumn. First up is the launch of a new season of MTV Faces, which premieres on October 1.

MTV Faces is a short-form digital series that tackles important, under-discussed topics. After a successful debut series focusing on grief, the new series will be hosted by Jordan Stephens (pictured) and address ADHD. Alongside celebrity guests such as Matt Willis, Cat Burns, Jessie Mei Lei, Wes Nelson and Rizzle Kicks bandmate Harvey Sylvester, Stephens will delve into personal experiences with ADHD.

The six-part series was commissioned by Amie Parker-Williams, who also serves as the production lead at MTV Entertainment Group International. She said: “It’s exciting to see new, original and inclusive content being commissioned for our digital channels, particularly in today’s climate. We hope these shows will go some way towards helping to promote a culture that is inclusive and creates a sense of belonging.”

Parker-Williams also commissioned Comedy Central’s new Sketch series, Dating Horror Stories, which launched on September 19th. Hosted by Kyrah Gray and produced by Mother’s Best Child, Dating Horror Stories is a sketch show that blends humour with social commentary on modern dating. Each episode revolves around the experiences of a single Black woman and the stereotypes and anxieties associated with dating. Cameos include Munya Chawawa, Kiell Smith-Bynoe and Ola Labib.

The eight-part series is being shown exclusively on Comedy Central’s YouTube Channel. Parker-Williams said: “By examining culture and courtship through a comedic lens, we offer our viewers a fresh perspective while exploring diverse experiences in the dating world — guaranteeing plenty of laughs along the way.”
