Middlechild Productions is launching Wildchild Studios, a brand-new sister company dedicated to pushing creative boundaries in the digital world.
“We’ve been making digital first content for a while now,” said David Sumnall, founder and CEO of Middlechild Productions, who will oversee Wildchild alongside managing director Andrew Eastel. “It felt like the perfect moment to create a stand-alone studio built entirely around digital storytelling and innovation.”
Among Middlechild’s key digital initiatives to date are documentary I Printed a Gun: Plastic and Deadly (pictured), which helped change UK law on 3D-printed firearms. Added to that is the recent launch of YouTube channel – Gardening with Alan Titchmarsh.
Wildchild’s slate will kick off with two fresh YouTube channels — one fronted by a top-tier chef, and another diving into the pet world with a household-name presenter. By the end of 2026, Wildchild aims to be running five original YouTube channels.
Middlechild said the new studio will serve as a “one-stop digital shop”, expanding Middlechild’s standout digital storytelling – from hard-hitting documentaries like Prison Stories and World’s Most Dangerous Rescues (Quintus), to presenter-led films like Therapy: Tough Talking and Jordan North’s Truth About Vaping (BBC Three).
Wildchild will also produce digital content for leading online platforms including OMG Stories, Filth, and Origin, through a new partnership with Upstream.
