Digital monetisation firm Merzigo has unveiled a deal with Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of Banijay Entertainment. The agreement is designed to optimise and monetise select titles from the leading distributor and scale them globally.

Valerio Motti, managing director, EMEA, Merzigo, said: “Banijay Rights’ catalogue includes some of the most iconic and globally loved entertainment programming of all time. Our agreement with Banijay Rights, which features YouTube channels such as MasterChef Universe (pictured), Mr Bean TV and Survivor Official TV, reflects the shared belief that premium content deserves premium presentation. By applying Merzigo’s  technology, analytics, and expertise, we’ll unleash these properties’ full potential in the digital space.”

As part of the agreement, Merzigo will employ its proprietary content optimisation and management tools to curate, enhance, and strategically distribute Banijay Rights’ content across multiple digital platforms. This will include the creation of compilation and highlight content, alongside enhancements in thumbnails, localisation, dubbing and resolution optimisation – to maximise audience retention and monetisation.

Shaun Keeble, VP Digital, Banijay Rights, said: “Our content has a truly global legacy, and this deal supports our ambition to thrive within the rapidly evolving digital content space. By refreshing how our content is curated and delivered, we can extend the reach of these beloved programmes, enhance the viewer experience, and secure sustained growth for our catalogue.”

Under the deal, Merzigo aims to driving audience growth and engagement across YouTube and Facebook, by leveraging data-driven insights and content optimisation capabilities.
