Immediate and Antidote join forces on ‘podcast of hope’

by | Jan 20, 2026 | News

Immediate has teamed up with storytelling lab Antidote to launch a six-episode podcast series called Screw This… Let’s try something else. The series is also backed by Brian Eno who called it “a podcast of hope filled stories that could genuinely change the world”.

Hosted by Maryam Pasha and Matt Golding, the podcast explores communities across the UK that have taken it upon themselves to try different ways to approach food, energy, housing, and decision making, to help make our world a more sustainable place for future generations. From a group taking housing into their own hands in Grimsby, to an estate that has built a community-owned money-generating wind turbine in Bristol, the podcast celebrates people building practical solutions to social challenges.

The podcast is based on an innovative storytelling approach, tested by Antidote in collaboration with the University of Bristol, designed to help audiences feel a stronger sense of agency over their own futures. On the Antidote website, listeners can use an AI postcode search tool to help them find five positive projects already happening within five miles of their front door – offering a quick way to join collective change.

Immediate is home to consumer brands including Radio Times, Good Food, HistoryExtra and BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine. Its content reaches millions of people a month across digital, print, video, podcasts, apps, live events, tools and services. Antidote is a project from impact studio Rubber Republic, which explores new forms of storytelling that can help ordinary people find hope and agency in the face of a challenging world.
