The winner of BEST HISTORY CHANNEL at the first-ever TellyCast Digital Video Awards is History Hit YouTube Channel.
Presented during a ceremony at The Londoner, Leicester Square, hosted by Max Fosh, the award honours social video channels that bring history to life in engaging and informative ways. Entries were judged on accuracy and depth of research, quality of storytelling, and the ability to captivate audiences.
2024 was a groundbreaking year for History Hit, which uploaded 130 original videos to its YouTube channel across a vast range of historical topics. Among highlights, feature documentary Stalingrad: The Last Letters became the channel’s most-watched video of 2024, amassing 2.6 million views in under 90 days – a new record for the channel.
Judges called the channel: “Inventive, surprisingly funny and rich with historical take out”. They also described it as: “Exciting content at both ends of the production spectrum.”
