by | Dec 11, 2025 | Feature, News

We’re rolling out an exclusive series of Q&As with the sector’s leading thinkers as they peer into their digital crystal balls and offer their take on what the next 12 months could bring.

Quintus Studios MD Gerrit Kemming is up next;

What’s the single biggest shift you expect to see in digital-first production and publishing in 2026?

A significant increase in multiple creator led, higher budget entertainment shows – even outside the UK.

Which platform behaviour or algorithm change do you think will matter most next year, and why?

Unfortunately, i don´t know of any algorithmic changes beforehand…

Where will your company’s biggest increase in revenue come from in 2026 – CPMs, brand spend, partnerships, new revenue models or something else?

Brand partnerships for sure.

What creative formats or genres do you think will break out next year?

Multiple creator-led big entertainment shows for digital first

How do you expect the relationship between traditional broadcasters/ distributors and digital-native studios to evolve in 2026?

There might be a few more touch points and overlaps between both worlds, but beyond that not a lot tbh. I believe that the traditional broadcasting world will consolidate even further, but find the bottom one day. It will then evolve in it´s own, learn how live in the smaller world with more limited budgets. The digital world will evolve in its own, too. It will co-exist with traditional broadcasting, but evolve and change a lot stronger. It will become a lot more complex and professional and learn what can be done with higher budgets – even in very niche topics.

What’s one data point, trend, or move from 2025 that people are underestimating – and what does it signal?

The trend from mainstream to niche!

If you could give one piece of advice to producers or creators preparing for 2026’s digital-first landscape, what would it be?

Producers: How can you rethink production. Be creative, try things out and be patient.

Creators: be open for suggestions, even if they come from the traditional world. Not all of it is bad only because it´s coming from the traditional world. Some of it has proven to be really good over decades…

Anything else to add?!

Let´s hope that this world calms down…
