Digital Content Forum 2025 to explore the world of vodcasts

by | Oct 10, 2025 | News

TellyCast has today released further details of the timely sessions taking place at this year’s Digital Content Forum (Thursday, November 6: BFI Southbank).

Confirmed is the line-up for How Vodcasting Is Rewriting the Rules of TV. Speakers include Flightstory CEO Georgie Holt, Engine Pop founder Athena Witter, Platform Media chief content officer Darby Dorras and Cold Glass Productions’ CEO Ben Kerr.

According to TellyCast, the session will explore how video podcasting is evolving from a niche format into a powerful force in the wider content economy. “It examines the financial and creative models driving the rise of vodcasting and its impact on audience behaviour. The discussion also considers how this fast-growing sector is influencing commissioning, distribution and the future shape of TV itself.”

The growth of vodcasts has been one of the undoubted success stories of the creator economy in the last couple of years. According to Forbes, there has been a 25% increase in the number of people in the US watching vodcasts over the last two years, which is higher growth than for any other audiovisual content. Meanwhile, Spotify head of EMEA sales Josh Partridge recently told The Media Leader that video podcast consumption on the platform is up 54% year on year.

The panel brings together a broad range of expertise. Holt is CEO of FlightStory, the home of Steven Bartlett’s ground-breaking podcast The Diary of a CEO. Witter was VP digital programming at BBC Studios before launching strategy studio Engine Pop.

Platform’s Dorras has a long track record in the business, having worked at Somethin’ Else and Listen – which merged with Platform earlier this year. He took up his current role as chief content officer in April 2025. Kerr built a strong track record in the business before co-launching Cold Glass in April 2025. Current projects include Dish From Waitrose, digital content for The BRIT Awards and Mercury Prize, a partnership with the BBC, and content for Angela Hartnett’s Murano Restaurant Group.

Earlier this week, TellyCast announced details of its digital formats session. It has also just named a new batch of industry leaders that have agreed to speak at the DCF. These include Katharina Gellein Viken of Metrotone Studios, Jon Lloyd from The Sun, Sam Barcroft representing SWNS Media Group, Sonny McLean from Fan Club Studio, and Daniel Winner of Avalon Advisory. They add to a roster of previously announced speakers including creator Harry Pinero, Sidemen Entertainment MD Victor Bengtsson, Upload Agency’s Stuart Jones, vidIQ’s Rob Wilson, Abi Watson of Enders Analysis, Spirit Studios’ Matt Campion, The Wit’s Caroline Servy, COPA90’s Daniel Parker and Oxford University’s Dr Alex Connock.

Also new for DCF 2025 is The Bridge Digital Formats Lounge, where ITV Studios and Zoo55 will connect with creators and indies to explore digital-first opportunities around new and catalogue formats. Other features include the YouTube Clinic where delegates can get a free health check of their YouTube channels by vidIQ.

Tickets are available now, with early bird discounts in place until October 10.
