Cowshed Collective has linked up with investigative journalist John Sweeney on a new podcast series, Lucy Letby: Was She Wronged? Co-presented by Sonoloom’s Ruth Barnes, the first episode is now available on It’s Criminal YouTube channel – the recent launch from Cowshed Collective’s ventures division and Krempelwood.
Designed for a digital-first audience, Lucy Letby: Was She Wronged? brings a journalistic lens to one of the most widely discussed and contested cases in recent British criminal justice history. Across the series, Sweeney and Barnes examine key questions, competing perspectives, and the wider implications of the case.
Sweeney (pictured) said: “On the very day that Lucy Letby was first convicted, I tweeted that ‘Sometimes the law gets it wrong.’. It’s been a privilege to work with the great teams at Cowshed and Kremplewood to set out the evidence, fairly and properly, that we may be looking at a monstrous miscarriage of justice.”
Ruth Barnes, co-presenter, added: “John Sweeney is a journalist who never fails to be on the right side of history – we are intensely proud to have supported him on this vital story. A story that goes to the heart of our medical and justice system like no other.”
Luci Sanan, Cowshed Ventures, said: “It’s Criminal exists to back premium, digital-first content with cultural relevance – and this series is exactly that. John and Ruth bring rare investigative authority on a subject that has captivated the public and continues to dominate headlines. We’re proud to be launching ‘Lucy Letby: Was She Wronged?’ on It’s Criminal and to be partnering with top talent on IP on YouTube and beyond”
