Audience growth platform Chronicle is expanding its work with digital food and lifestyle studio Simple Alien, by helping it scale three creator-led YouTube series: Chewed Up, Why’d They Wear That? and the upcoming Simply Symons.
The companies said Chronicle has been working on audience development and optimisation for Chewed Up, a food and lifestyle series hosted by Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly and Michael Symon. The series launched on YouTube in October and has so far surpassed 70,000 subscribers, with new episodes streaming three times weekly on YouTube and on the All Chewed Up FAST channel on LG.
According to the companies, Chewed Up has generated 5 million organic impressions and 140,000 watch hours over the last 22 days. Chronicle said the series also saw TV views per day increase approximately 60% month over month, while new viewers and subscribers grew nearly 6.5x and daily revenue increased more than 32%.
Chronicle attributed the gains to its audience discovery, optimisation and micro-targeting technology, which it said is designed to help connect content with targeted viewers across connected TV and digital platforms.
The company is also working on audience optimization for Why’d They Wear That?, a fashion-focused rewatch series hosted by Stacy London and Clinton Kelly, which premiered April 16. In addition, Chronicle will support Simply Symons, featuring Michael and Liz Symon, when the series launches this week.
“Building a digital network that breaks through takes three things: talent, distribution and discovery,” said Nick Panagopulos, president, and Marissa Ronca, chief content officer, Simple Alien. “We’ve built Simple Alien around the first two. Chronicle completes the equation. They don’t just find an audience – they find the right audience. Fans who watch, not scroll, and who come back multiple times a week.”
“Creator-based culinary, lifestyle and fashion content is among the most in-demand categories on YouTube and resonates strongly with digital-first audiences that matter to advertisers,” said Aaron Sisto, co-founder and CEO of Chronicle. “[Simple Alien] bring a fresh approach to producing content for today’s multi-platform ecosystem, and Carla, Clinton and Michael and Stacy each have passionate fan bases that will continue to grow as Chronicle connects untapped audiences to their shows.”
Chronicle’s AI-driven platform manages channel strategy, content optimisation, audience discovery, predictive micro-targeting and monetisation for social video creators and media partners. These latest projects represent Chronicle’s broader push into longform social video and podcast programming.
Simple Alien develops unscripted programming for YouTube, podcasting and other digital platforms, with a focus on creator-owned IP and scalable production models.
