Channel 4 is on the hunt for a new digital commissioning editor, branded. The post, which is now being advertised via platforms including LinkedIn, follows the recent departure of Joe Churchill to form his brand to broadcaster agency Fan Club.

The job is based in Leeds. C4 said it is looking for “a very hungry, versatile, creative exec to help develop, pitch and win briefs, commission indies and have creative oversight over a world-class slate of content in the branded entertainment space”.

The successful candidate will “absolutely love and get social whilst also understanding how to create for the Channel 4 digital network, ensuring our commercial projects live and breathe C4 values. We need a confident, unflappable speaker, there will be no shortage of in person pitches and you will be required to be highly proficient in articulating our brands, talent and shows, with energy, passion and expert knowledge.”

Key responsibilities include commissioning and executive producing digital programmes across branded projects, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with the agreed editorial specification. The new commissioning editor will work with indies on “developing digital originals in line with department strategy”.

In terms of experience, candidates must be “a digital/creative native and/or experienced development senior, series producer, executive producer or commissioner with experience of producing digital and multiplatform content.”

Previous branded entertainment projects to have come out of this division include The Secret Life of 5 Year Olds with EON Next, Kojey’s Block Party (pictured) with Brooklyn Brewery and Second-Hand Showdown with Vinted.
