BossaNova Media has partnered with energy industry trade association Energy UK to produce Energy Explained, a short-form strand built around questions audiences are searching for online.
The partnership will draw on footage and access provided by Energy UK and its members, with YouTube specialist Klik Studios supporting the project. It comes as BossaNova expands its digital activity, including plans for its first Digital Development Day in spring 2027.
Initial episodes will explore subjects including what happens when someone flicks a light switch and how the power system operates when the wind does not blow and the sun does not shine. The wider strand is intended to cover the energy transition through science, engineering, history and future developments. Audience questions and search behaviour will inform the content.
Energy UK represents businesses across generation, supply, infrastructure and other parts of the energy sector. Chief communications officer Juliette Sanders said: “Not only is the way we generate and transport energy complex, it’s changing, and people understandably have questions. We’re excited to be working with BossaNova and Klik to be answering these questions.”
She added: “We want to tell the stories about some of the amazing technical feats of wonder, from turbines that float at sea to power stations inside mountains, and open the door to stunning visuals that few people get to see.”
BossaNova will work with its London- and Istanbul-based sister company Klik Studios, formerly Night Train Digital, which was rebranded under the restructured Serafin group. Led by former YouTube and Sky executive Neil Francis, Klik manages almost 60 YouTube channels across scripted and unscripted content, with a combined subscriber base of more than 25 million.
Francesca Johnson, head of acquisitions at BossaNova, said: “As we navigate the seismic shifts in our industry, it’s very much in our focus to continue to service traditional TV markets whilst developing innovative strategy for emerging digital first opportunities.”
She added: “We’re committed to putting climate on screen through entertaining brands and formats that have an impact and this is an important first step.”
BossaNova said the activity forms part of a broader strategy to increase digital sales revenue with Klik and expand collaboration and intelligence sharing across the Serafin group.
