TellyCast teams with Prime to offer free freelancer tickets for How to Make Money in Digital

TellyCast has partnered with Amazon Prime and the National Film and Television School (NFTS) to offer free tickets to UK TV freelancers for its upcoming How to Make Money in Digital event.

The initiative forms part of the Prime Video Pathway (PVP), an Amazon Prime-backed programme delivered with NFTS, aimed at supporting the reskilling and upskilling of TV freelancers across all regions, roles and genres.

Under the scheme, a limited number of free tickets will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis to freelancers who may not otherwise be able to attend.

Since launching in October 2025, the wider Reskill & Upskill programme has supported 2,683 experienced TV freelancers across the UK who have found themselves out of work during a challenging period for the industry.

The ticket release comes ahead of TellyCast’s second annual How to Make Money in Digital, which takes place on April 20, 2026 at 30 Euston Square in London.

The one-day event will bring together production companies, digital studios, publishers and creators to explore how the sector is building sustainable revenues beyond traditional broadcast models. The programme focuses on platform-native strategies, IP development, brand partnerships and emerging formats including vertical video, microdrama and video podcasting.

Sessions include Spotify’s How to Monetise Your Video on Spotify, led by Rowan Collinson, and Inside Time Team’s Digital Reboot, in which Tim Taylor MBE will discuss how the long-running factual brand is being reimagined for digital audiences.

Additional speakers include Samantha Sun (Reelforce), Steve Ackerman (Ack Media Consulting), Joe Tattersall (The Content Group), Rich Herd (Scene & Herd Media), Jen Cooper (Vertical Drama Love) and Matt Campion (Spirit Studios).

Justin Crosby, founder of TellyCast, said the partnership would help broaden access to the event at a time when many freelancers are seeking to adapt to changing market conditions. “The industry is going through profound change, and freelancers need all the support they can get to adapt and thrive in this new landscape. With traditional commissioning under pressure and digital opportunities expanding, it’s more important than ever that talent across the UK can access the insights, connections and practical guidance that will help them pivot successfully. Partnering with NFTS on this initiative allows us to open the door to those who might otherwise miss out, ensuring the next phase of the industry is as inclusive and future-facing as possible.”

Freelancers can submit their free ticket application here. General admission tickets also on sale. For more details, visit howto.tellycast.com.
