The winner of BEST LOW BUDGET PRODUCTION at the 2025 TellyCast Digital Video Awards is There’s Something About Amy (Parts 4+5), a second win on the night for Spud Gun Studios.
Presented during a ceremony at The Londoner, Leicester Square, the award honours exceptional creativity and quality in productions under £10,000. All four finalists demonstrated ingenuity and resourcefulness, underlining how it’s possible to operate on tight budgets without compromising quality.
On an incredibly tight budget, the winner, an animated short, achieved exceptional reach and engagement across multiple platforms. Total views exceeded 4.95 million across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter, with YouTube alone driving 3.76 million views. Watch time was particularly impressive, with over 180,855 hours on YouTube.
Audience testimonials underlined the content’s quality and resonance. Comments ranged from appreciation for the evolving art style and smooth animation to praise for the narrative and voice acting. One user remarked that the animation “deserves to be on Netflix”.
Judges said the tariff for original animation was incredible, adding that the winning entry shows “really clever use of editorial devices to bring animation costs down”.
