Spirit Studios has announced the formation of a new advisory board as part of a strategic expansion. The production company, which specialises in multi-platform storytelling, has appointed Matt Risley, Managing Director of Channel 4’s 4Studio, Matt Ford, Co-Founder of CoLabX, and Katy Llewellyn-Jones, a content sales and commercial consultant, to the board.
Their expertise in digital content, branded entertainment, and distribution will support the company’s IP360 strategy, which seeks to develop creative ideas into content brands with global potential.
Additionally, Fatima Dowlet, Head of Streaming and Social Propositions at Channel 4, has been appointed as an observer to Spirit Studios’ main board. The move follows Channel 4’s investment in the company through its Indie Growth Fund in 2021 and reflects continued collaboration between the two organisations.
Spirit Studios’ Co-Founders Matt Campion and Peter Cowley said: “We are pleased to welcome Matt Risley, Matt Ford, and Katy Llewelyn-Jones to our advisory board. Their experience will be valuable as we continue to expand our business. Fatima Dowlet’s expertise in streaming and social content will also be an asset to our main board.”
Matt Risley, Managing Director of 4Studio, said: “Spirit Studios is one of the most innovative, digital-first production companies I have worked with, and I look forward to supporting its future development.”
Spirit Studios produces content across digital, television, audio, and branded platforms including The Lion Whisperer TV which just surpassed on billion views on YouTube.
