TellyCast has revealed that content creator and social media personality Specs Gonzalez will host this year’s Digital Video Awards, which takes place on May 21 at The Londoner in London’s Leicester Square. The event organiser also officially opened table bookings for the ceremony.
Shortlisted teams are encouraged to secure their places early for what is set to be one of the key networking and celebration events in the digital content calendar.
Now in its second year, the Digital Video Awards celebrate excellence, creativity and innovation in digital-first production and distribution. Gonzalez’ appointment as host reflects the Awards’ keen focus on digital-native talent and creators.
Gonzalez has built a strong following through his distinctive comedic style and highly engaging digital presence. He first rose to prominence on TikTok via his @specsnorules account, where he shares humorous sketches, podcast clips and dance content, amassing more than 200,000 followers. His growing footprint also spans YouTube and other platforms.
Gonzalez hosts the No Rules show, blending humour with personal storytelling, and has featured in numerous productions including Sky Sports: Scenes and Hear Me Out. He is also a regular contributor to the popular UK football podcast FilthyFellas, where he combines football discussion with comedic banter.
The 2026 edition of the DVAs features a broad range of categories recognising achievement across studios, channels and formats, alongside awards for branded content, podcasts and emerging platform strategies.
The Awards also highlight key growth areas across the sector, with categories covering AI-driven production, microdrama, sport, news, women’s channels and digital catalogue exploitation. The Studio of the Year award is expected to be closely contested, while channel and format categories reflect the diversity of content across platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and FAST services.
Judged by an independent panel of industry experts, the Awards recognise those pushing boundaries in storytelling, audience engagement and creative execution. The Unsung Hero category will once again spotlight individuals making a significant impact behind the scenes. Tables and individual tickets can be secured here.
