About Mako Studios

Mako Studios is a digital entertainment studio creating original formats, developing YouTube and social audiences, and producing entertainment for brands, talent and media partners. We bring audience strategy, development and production together to make content people choose to watch and formats that can grow beyond one campaign.

The role

Own the day to day relationships with key clients and make sure our projects are commercially sound, well organised and delivered to a high standard. You will connect clients, the Founder, creative teams, production partners and suppliers, translating good ideas into clear commitments and dependable delivery.

What you will own

  • Act as the senior day to day contact for assigned brand and platform clients, keeping communication clear and trusted.
  • Translate client briefs and agreed scopes into delivery plans with named owners, budgets, milestones and approval points.
  • Lead client meetings, status updates and reviews, ensuring actions and feedback are documented and followed through.
  • Manage project risks, changes in scope and conflicting priorities, escalating early with considered solutions.
  • Coordinate creative, strategy, production, talent and external teams without losing sight of the client objective.
  • Oversee resourcing, supplier costs and project financials to protect agreed budgets and commercial commitments.
  • Keep statements of work, schedules, briefs and sign offs accurate, accessible and up to date.
  • Lead project debriefs and use feedback to improve workflows, client satisfaction and opportunities for repeat work.

What you will bring

Essential experience and capabilities

  • A strong track record in client service and complex delivery across creative, content, digital, agency or production environments.
  • Examples of work you have led from brief to delivery, including budgets, timelines, stakeholders and decisions.
  • Sound commercial judgement, with the confidence to manage scope, costs, feedback and difficult conversations.
  • Excellent organisation and communication, including clear written updates and presentations to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to support creative work while maintaining project discipline and holding people to agreed responsibilities.
  • A practical understanding of digital content workflows and an interest in YouTube, creators and entertainment.

Helpful additional experience

  • Experience working with major brands, broadcasters, digital platforms or creator businesses.
  • Experience commissioning or managing freelancers, specialist partners and production suppliers.
  • Familiarity with content performance reporting and how delivery influences audience or client outcomes.

Priorities in the first three months

  • Establish a complete view of assigned accounts, live deliverables, commercial commitments and key stakeholders.
  • Introduce a consistent reporting, risk management and client approval rhythm.
  • Build a forward plan that makes client commitments and team capacity realistic and visible.

What success looks like

  • Projects meet agreed milestones and changes are handled transparently.
  • Clients know who owns each decision and receive timely, useful information.
  • Budget and scope risks are visible before they threaten delivery or margin.
  • Teams can focus on good work because expectations and sign offs are clear.

How we review applications

We will look for examples of account ownership, delivery complexity, budget responsibility, stakeholder management and outcomes. A missing job title or specific tool will not be taken as proof that someone lacks the underlying capability.

We value relevant achievements, transferable experience and potential. A specific degree is not required where practical experience demonstrates the capabilities needed for the role.
