Media entrepreneur Piers Morgan has used the X platform to reveal a new partnership between his digital-first Uncensored brand and Paramount-owned channel 5.
According to Morgan, 5 is planning to air a 90-minute weekly show that compiles content taken from his YouTube channel Piers Morgan Uncensored. The show was ordered by Federico Ruiz, commissioning editor at 5 and Paramount+, and is being produced by Morgan’s Wake Up Productions.
In his X post, Morgan said: “Brace yourselves Britain, our hit YouTube show is coming to TV. Tune in Fridays at 11pm…for rousing debates, high impact interviews and a hard dose of truth.”
Piers Morgan Uncensored currently has around 4m subscribers and describes itself as “the home of fierce debate; as well as breaking world news and Hollywood exclusives with a cast list of world-leaders and A-listers.”
Morgan has expressed ambition to expand the brand. He has talked about Uncensored being “potentially a really big entity where I will have other people under me who will be also uncensored. I’m also going to expand the genres. So I want to get into Crime Uncensored, History Uncensored, Sport Uncensored.”
But he has also previously lambasted traditional TV as a platform in decline, declaring that “Linear television is a ticking clock to oblivion.”
