Narativ Media has been appointed official distributor for China’s COL Group across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Africa and CIS territories.
Under the terms of the deal, Narativ will oversee regional distribution of COL Group’s vertical micro-drama catalogue of more than 1,700 titles, along with AI-driven animation assets and other digital content from its portfolio.
The companies said the partnership will also focus on building a structured distribution framework for short-form drama in the territories. Narativ’s remit includes market development, platform partnerships, broadcaster relationships and digital monetisation initiatives, particularly in mobile-first markets.
A key element of the collaboration is integration with COL Group’s micro-drama platform FlareFlow, aimed at supporting telecom partnerships, bundled carrier offerings and other monetisation models across mobile and OTT.
Manjyot Sandhu, CEO and co-founder of Narativ Media (pictured), said: “Micro-dramas are reshaping viewing habits, particularly in mobile-first markets such as MENA, Africa and CIS. Our appointment as distributor for COL Group in these territories reflects Narativ’s focus on building a sustainable distribution architecture for this format.”
Timothy Oh, general manager of COL Group International, added: “We are expanding our micro-drama slate with hundreds of new titles launching each quarter. Scale and regional expertise are important as we grow FlareFlow and bring micro-drama to new platforms, telcos and audiences. Narativ’s footprint in MENA, Africa and CIS makes it a strategic partner for this phase of expansion.”
Narativ Media, headquartered in the UAE, manages more than 7,000 hours of content across multiple territories and languages. COL Group is a publicly listed Chinese media company focused on content development, production and IP management, and operates micro-drama platforms including FlareFlow and ReelShort.
