Luxury childrenswear firm Childsplay Clothing and creative house Mako Studios have launched PlayKind, a family entertainment platform that brings together fashion, creativity, and storytelling through a shared lens of culture and community.
According to the partners, PlayKind will blend “the visual artistry of luxury fashion with the authenticity of real families and creators. The platform will deliver short-form and long-form content across YouTube and social channels, with plans to expand into live events, collaborations, and educational initiatives during 2026.”
Nick Bassi, CEO of Childsplay Clothing, explained: “At Childsplay, family and creativity have always been at the heart of everything we do. Operating across more than 120 countries and representing over 150 designer brands, we see firsthand how the idea of ‘luxury’ has evolved it’s no longer just about products, it’s about connection.’
Bassi said PlayKind will give that connection a platform “bringing together design, storytelling, and shared experience in a way that reflects the diversity of modern family life. We believe the future of family fashion is emotional, cultural, and digital. PlayKind lets us lead that conversation globally.”
Tafara Makopa, founder and CEO of Mako Studios, added: “Families today are consuming more creative and educational content together than at any point in the last decade. Over 60% of shared family screen time now centres on uplifting or learning-based media. That tells us something powerful: people want stories with purpose. PlayKind is built on that insight. It’s where style meets substance. By combining the craft of cinematic storytelling with authentic family voices, we’re creating a positive space that resonates across cultures and generations.”
Haroon Hussain, strategic advisor, said: “This partnership represents a defining moment for UK-born creativity where fashion, storytelling, and education converge to shape the future of family culture. As a strategist working across global creative and governance initiatives, I’ve seen the growing demand for content that inspires as well as entertains. PlayKind embodies a platform built on values, vision, and collaboration.”
The partners said the collaboration “marks a pioneering model of partnership between fashion and media, uniting Childsplay’s global brand influence with Mako’s expertise in digital storytelling and production. PlayKind will highlight real families, young creators, and cultural stories through visually rich, uplifting narratives that promote creativity, kindness, and connection.”
PlayKind is open for brand partnerships, “inviting partners who share its mission to empower families, celebrate creativity, and champion purposeful media.
