The winner of BEST SPORTS CHANNEL at the first-ever TellyCast Digital Video Awards is football-themed League of ’72, from After Party Studios, Sky Bet and the EFL.
Presented during a ceremony at The Londoner, Leicester Square, hosted by Max Fosh, the award honours channels that offer compelling analysis, bts features, interviews, innovative presentation techniques, fan engagement and community.
League of ’72 celebrates Sky Bet’s partnership with the EFL, giving the 72 clubs outside of the Premier League the spotlight they deserve. A recent relaunch saw the channel select five culturally relevant creators – PK Humble, Billy Wingrove, Manny, StevoTheMadMan & James Allcott – to take on clubs from across the EFL in a number of different formats.
From taking on the Pros at their own game in training ground challenges (LEVELS), to vlogging creators’ first ever experience of an EFL game (First Time Fan), the channel has generated entertaining content that social media audiences are paying attention to. To date, the channel has generated over 18 million views across You Tube, Instagram and X.
Judges called the channel “fresh and engaging. Its diverse content, ranging in subject, length, and format, has successfully attracted and retained viewers, keeping them engaged for longer. The in-depth documentaries and longer-form pieces are compelling, leaving audiences eager to learn more.”
