BBC Studios Productions head of branded entertainment Kate Norum is on the move after two and a half years in her post.
Norum, who describes herself as “a strategic leader in branded entertainment and commercial storytelling with 12+ years’ experience delivering impactful brand partnerships”, commented: “It’s been a privilege and a joy to collaborate with such talented and creative teams and I’m hugely grateful for the experience”.
Reflecting on her time at BBCS, Norum said: “From forging a formidable partnership with the BBC Global News & Streaming team in North America, resulting in the biggest ever branded entertainment win for BBCSP, through to (a personal highlight) getting the chance to immerse myself in the sequin-drenched spectacle of Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool, it has been a truly inspiring chapter.”
On her LinkedIn profile, Norum says: “Collaborating across editorial, marketing and commercial teams, I’ve consistently unlocked value for both brands and broadcasters. I’ve recently added AI content creation to my skillset, using tools like text-to-audio, AI-assisted scriptwriting and automated presentations to help streamline production and explore new ways of telling stories.”
Prior to BBCS, Norum was branded content controller at Sky and before that she was commercial partnerships lead at UKTV. As for her next gig, she said: “I welcome the next chapter with curiosity and resilience and can’t wait to channel everything I’ve learned into something new.”
