ABOUT US:
Hungry Bear Media is an award winning, independent production company that has become one of the driving forces in UK entertainment. Since 2014, we’ve grown from a small London start up into one of the UK’s most in demand production companies, with studios in London and Glasgow and a slate of industry leading productions, with brilliant talent both on and off screen creating the best content.
We’re proudly, truly independent, and that independence is what lets us stay talent-first, move fast, and champion bold ideas and the people behind them.
Our culture matters as much as our output. We’re a diverse, inclusive team, and we actively encourage applications from under-represented backgrounds.
We’re now looking to supercharge our Digital division and want to grow our exceptional team with people who are passionate about building loyal audiences to our YouTube channels. If you want to work on content that genuinely matters to millions of people, this is the role for you.
THE ROLE:
To take ownership of one of our YouTube channels for an established brand, leading strategy and managing the day-to-day publishing operation to ensure our brand and talent show up with authenticity, creativity, and commercial impact.
This is a hands-on role that requires strategic thinking and critical judgement. You will set the strategic direction and roll up your sleeves to execute it: developing content concepts, contributing ideas to the long-form shoot, writing titles and descriptions, optimising metadata, managing and building the community and analysing performance data to continuously improve. The role is ideal for an experienced YouTube producer or channel manager ready to take full ownership of a high-profile channel at scale. There is real excitement about the potential of this channel, and the right person will be driven to find the best ways to grow it.
OUTCOMES:
- Channel growth: Build and maintain a compelling, consistent YouTube presence, growing subscribers, watch time, and retention in line with agreed targets. Understanding our audience and converting that audience into an engaged community.
- Content excellence: Contribute to the production and own the publishing of long-form series, and Shorts that are platform-native, on-brand, and audience-first.
- Strategic leadership: Develop and own the daily content calendar, aligned to talent schedules, editorial priorities, platform moments, and commercial partnerships.
- Performance intelligence: Track and report on KPIs (views, watch time, subscriber growth, CTR, retention curves) using YouTube Studio and third-party tools to continuously iterate and improve and communicate findings to relevant team members to influence decision making across the brand.
- Talent stewardship: Understand how to present high profile talent at their best on camera and in packaging, protecting reputation while maximising reach and audience connection.
DAY TO DAY

- Develop and maintain a YouTube specific content strategy rooted in audience insight, platform algorithm understanding, and performance data.
- Collaborate with production teams and talent to develop compelling long-form content and short-form formats.

- Brief and manage thumbnail designers and edit teams to ensure every piece of content is packaged to the highest standard.
- Plan and manage the content calendar, coordinating with internal teams around key editorial, talent, and commercial moments.
- Manage the publishing schedule, including scheduling, end screens, cards, chapters, playlists, and premieres.
- Monitor platform trends, emerging formats, creator landscape shifts, and algorithm changes, bringing proactive recommendations to the team.
- Own YouTube analytics and reporting: track performance weekly, translate data into clear insights, and adjust strategy accordingly.
- Manage community engagement, responding to comments, maintaining brand voice, and fostering audience loyalty.
- Develop and execute a YouTube Shorts strategy that feeds the main channel and drives cross platform awareness.
- Collaborate closely with production, talent management, PR, and partnerships teams to ensure YouTube is fully integrated into wider brand activity.
