iHeartMedia and TikTok have launched TikTok Radio, a new radio station and streaming channel designed to merge broadcast audio with trends emerging from the social platform. The station debuted on March 13 with a live broadcast from South by Southwest in Austin and is available on the iHeartRadio app.
TikTok Radio is positioned as a fast-paced music and talk format that combines charting music with commentary and trend coverage drawn from activity on the TikTok platform. Programming aims to extend the discovery culture of TikTok into audio, highlighting emerging creators, viral music moments and trending topics.
The launch broadcast from SXSW featured interviews and live segments with TikTok creators and artists, with content distributed across both companies’ platforms.
At the same time, TikTok and iHeartMedia also announced the initial lineup for the TikTok Podcast Network, a slate of creator-hosted shows distributed through iHeart’s podcast infrastructure. The first wave of programmes includes:
Suite 305: hosted by Lele Pons (pictured), featuring interviews and culture discussions
Caroline’s Closet: hosted by fashion editor Caroline Vazzana, focused on the fashion industry
Sports Slice: hosted by sports creator Tim Martin
The Clifford Show: hosted by sports personality Clifford Taylor IV
The Set List: hosted by media personality and music executive Carter Gregory
The podcast network is launching with GEICO as its exclusive launch partner, marking an early advertising integration across creator-led audio programming.
Additional show details, trailers and premiere dates will be announced in the coming months as the partnership expands. Episodes and highlights from the podcasts are expected to be promoted across TikTok Radio as part of cross-platform discovery.
