TV industry veteran Guy Gadney has launched a new creative technology company that is planning to “rewrite the rules of short-form storytelling”.
Called Charismatic.ai, the company describes itself as “the world’s first generative AI platform for Microdramas”. It aims to provide agencies, creators, and media brands with a tool to generate idea-to-animated narrative content in under 15 minutes.
Built for the era of attention-scarce audiences and exploding content demand, Charismatic.ai lets users input a simple prompt such as “football adventure” or “gen Z heist”, and instantly generate animated episodic content.
Broadcast genres range from South Park-like humour to photo-realistic drama. It integrates with leading video generation models such as Veo3, turning concepts, audience data, or even advertising briefs into bite-sized, serialised stories.
“Charismatic.ai is a scalable creative pipeline built for agencies, media networks, and creators,” said Gadney, CEO of Charismatic.ai. “Our focus on good storytelling is the missing link in AI developments, and having worked closely with creators across TV, film, YouTube and TikTok, we are now able to deliver a world-first solution that connects short-form content like Microdramas with quality narratives.”
Charismatic.ai was developed with research partners Channel 4 and Aardman Animations, with ethical design oversight from Lisa Talia Moretti. According to Gadney, the company is positioned at the intersection of three major industry shifts: generative AI in media, a short-form storytelling boom and advertising innovation.
