Goalhanger has signed a three-year deal with LALIGA EA Sports, becoming the first podcast to secure official rights to weekly clips from a major European football league.
Launching on August 19, The Rest Is Football: LALIGA is a video-first edition of the hit podcast, hosted by Gary Lineker and presenter Alex Aljoe. Available on Spotify and YouTube for audiences in the UK & Ireland, with audio released globally, each episode will feature clips from every LALIGA match, alongside expert analysis and discussion.
According to Goalhanger, the partnership brings fans exclusive access to action from clubs including FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Athletic Club “all delivered through the distinctive tone and insight of The Rest Is Football.”

Since then, we’ve added video to our Spotify feed and seen consumption explode. This is the brave new world of podcasting.”

The LALIGA deal follows a June announcement that The Rest Is Football had partnered with DAZN – FIFA’s global broadcast partner – to give fans exclusive access to the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup 2025, including licensed match footage within the show for the first time. The partnership delivered significant reach, with tournament-period episodes generating over 4.7 million streams and downloads.
