Fox Corporation streaming service Tubi has unveiled Tubi for Creators, a new programme designed to accelerate Tubi’s investment in bringing more original stories from creators to its audience of 100 million monthly active viewers.
Tubi for Creators encompasses Tubi’s previously launched fan-fueled studio, Stubios, a recently announced partnership with Kickstarter and, starting today, a new and scalable pathway for digital creators to bring content to the platform.
Six inaugural content creators have signed on to join Tubi for Creators, bringing more than 500 videos of episodic content – with more creators joining and thousands of videos coming to the platform in the coming weeks.
To lead the team that oversees Tubi for Creators and partnerships, former Vimeo exec Rich Bloom has been appointed as general manager, creator programmes & executive vice president, business development.
“We’re listening to our viewers and recognise their desire for more stories that reflect culture and talent from the digital world,” said Anjali Sud, CEO of Tubi (pictured). “Tubi is uniquely poised to bring the creator economy to Hollywood and expand the pathways for creators to succeed in long-form storytelling.”
On Bloom’s appointment, he added: “Rich has spent his career in video partnering and supporting creators, and I’m excited for him to accelerate our efforts to help more storytellers find their audience and bring stories to our fans.”
Bloom added: “I’m thrilled to join Tubi as they are committed to offering creators unique opportunities, creative freedom and importantly, an audience. Many creators today function like full-fledged production studios creating longer-form, episodic content that is a perfect fit for broader distribution and Tubi is the right partner to level-up their content and grow their audience.”
The creators joining the programme reflect Tubi’s growing younger, multicultural audience, with content that connects with passionate fandoms across horror, anime and comedy. Creators joining the programme include:
