Fawkes Digital rebrands as Studio Fawkes as Date Me Right Now moves to MTV linear

Entertainment IP studio Fawkes Digital has relaunched as Studio Fawkes and secured its first linear commission, with street-dating format Date Me Right Now set to air on MTV from 23 November.

The 11-part series (pictured), fronted by Kimberley Cumberbatch, launched on MTV UK’s YouTube channel over the summer. It sees Cumberbatch take dating away from the apps and onto the street, helping Gen Z singles look for genuine connections in person. Creators Georgia Wood and Mason Blake make cameo appearances.

Lucy Smith, CEO and founder of Studio Fawkes (above), said: “I launched Fawkes with a belief that the next generation of entertainment formats would be grown around creators, communities and ideas that reach audiences beyond traditional platforms. Studio Fawkes is the evolution of that thinking, with our IP spanning digital and linear channels, international territories and tangible products. Our first linear commission from a digital-first series is testament to how digital and television are no longer two separate entities.”

Founded by Smith in 2024, the studio develops original entertainment formats built as IP universes for brands, creators and broadcasters. Its credits include Michelle Visage-fronted fashion series Make It Iconic for Burson and TK Maxx, Baddest in the World with Chloe Burrows, Adeola Patronne and Madame Joyce for Channel 4.0, and Campus Clash with Nella Rose for Channel 4.0 and Currys. It has also produced Korea Ladder for the Korean Tourism Board, Steam Queens for Fan Club and Russell Hobbs, and LinkedIn series CEOs Go Wild, which is going into its third season.

The studio’s Texture Talks podcast with creator Paige Lewin, made for L’Oréal, led to a haircare merchandise line that sold out soon after launch, according to the company.

Studio Fawkes said further projects with creators, brands and broadcasters will be announced in the coming months.
