Epidemic Group has acquired Stockholm-based video entertainment company Blenda Labs, expanding its operations beyond music and sound into video production.
The acquisition follows the group’s strategic announcement in April 2026 outlining plans to broaden its technology infrastructure for content creation beyond its core music catalogue. By adding Blenda Labs’ tech and workflows, the company aims to offer premium IP owners services spanning both audio and video production.
Blenda Labs has developed a proprietary production platform that combines AI-supported workflows with human creative direction to produce animation and video content. The company works with rights holders across formats.

Following the acquisition, Blenda Labs will continue to operate as an autonomous business within Epidemic Group, retaining its creative team and production capabilities while gaining access to the group’s music, sound platform and other infrastructure.

Blenda Labs’ customer base includes companies such as CoStudios, producer of Laban The Little Ghost, and Storytel. Its productions range from films to YouTube-focused content. “Animation has traditionally required trade-offs between quality and speed,” said Viktor Linell, CEO of CoStudios. “Blenda excels in both.
