Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Moonbug’s Blippi partner on YouTube crossover series

Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Moonbug Entertainment have teamed up on a digital content collaboration that brings Moonbug preschool brand Blippi together with two of Dr. Seuss’s most recognisable characters, The Grinch and The Cat in the Hat. 

The collaboration marks the first time the Dr. Seuss YouTube channel has partnered with an external preschool brand for original crossover content. The partnership spans four short-form crossover episodes on the Blippi and Dr. Seuss YouTube channels.

The first two episodes, featuring Blippi and The Grinch, launched on December 19, with each brand releasing a different episode on its YouTube channel. A second pair of episodes, starring Blippi and Meekah alongside The Cat in the Hat, will debut on February 27, timed to lead into Dr. Seuss’s annual birthday celebration on March 2.

Rather than mirroring content across platforms, the companies opted for a split-drop strategy, releasing unique episodes on each channel to encourage cross-viewing between the two audiences. The partners said this approach “reflects the scale and reach of both brands within the digital kids and family content space”.

Dr. Seuss Enterprises relaunched its YouTube channel in 2024 as a family co-viewing destination in partnership with Little Dot Studios, which also produced the Dr. Seuss-side Blippi crossover episodes. In 2025 to date, the channel has generated 82.4 million views and added more than 735,000 subscribers. Moonbug’s Blippi remains one of YouTube’s largest preschool properties, averaging more than 2 billion monthly views and reaching more than 100 million subscribers across its network of channels.

Joie Yale, entertainment manager at Dr. Seuss Enterprises, said the collaboration reflects a shared focus on family co-viewing. “Blippi has become such a beloved presence for kids and families, and we saw a natural opportunity to bring his world together with Dr. Seuss characters like The Grinch and The Cat in the Hat.”

Mike Katzman, general manager of Blippi at Moonbug Entertainment, added: “The Dr. Seuss universe has a multi-generational affection that few family brands can match. Pairing that timeless world with Blippi’s global digital reach allows us to create content that encourages curiosity, play, and shared viewing.”

The Grinch-focused episodes centre on holiday-themed activities and playful social-emotional storytelling, while the February releases featuring The Cat in the Hat lean into science, experimentation, and birthday celebration themes.
