The Walt Disney Company has agreed an integrated creative partnership with sports and comedy collective Dude Perfect, covering original content and distribution of selected existing programming.
Dude Perfect will develop content for its own channels inspired by Disney franchises and events, with selected content also appearing on Disney+. The collaboration spans entertainment, sports, consumer products, parks and experiences.
Planned projects over the next year include content tied to Super Bowl LXI, the 50th anniversary of Star Wars and Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. The latter will include Avengers-themed content for Dude Perfect’s Overtime series.
Disney will also gain access to a selection of Dude Perfect’s existing short-form library for distribution across Disney+, ESPN and Disney social platforms.
The agreement builds on an existing relationship between the companies. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“Disney has always been a place where great storytellers come to create, and Dude Perfect brings a distinctive voice and an inventive approach to everything they do,” said Asad Ayaz, chief marketing and brand officer at The Walt Disney Company. “By building on our longstanding relationship, we’re able to give fans even more ways to experience and be part of the Disney stories they love.”
The partnership is the latest in a long line of alliances between Hollywood studios/streamers and leading digital first creators. Disney, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Samsung TV Plus and Fox-owned Tubi have all been increasing aggressive in courting digital-first talent.
