Dan Lorimer has been named as creative director of Sony Pictures Television International Production’s new digital division. He joins Matt Ford, who was drafted in to head SPTIP’s expansion into digital first content in July 2025.
Speaking via LinkedIn, Lorimer said he was “excited to be linking back up with Matt Ford to spearhead the group’s move into original content online in the UK.”
Lorimer started his career in traditional TV but then went on to play leading roles at LADbible Group and Cowshed Collective. Most recently he was a development executive at Hat Trick-backed Strong Watch Studios.
Lorimer is Ford’s first high-profile appointment since leaving CoLab X to become VP – commercial, digital at SPTIT. Ford will be speaking about his vision for the new digital outfit at the Digital Content Forum in November.
At the time of his own appointment, Ford said: “Over the past year I’ve been pretty vocal about why production companies need to take YouTube seriously. The team here agreed – and together we’re going to build it. I’m leading a new digital-first content offering at Sony Pictures Television International Production – creating original formats, launching new channels and building creator partnerships.”
