Interior designer Corey Damen Jenkins (pictured) has launched Design Reimagined, a YouTube series offering a behind-the-scenes look at his design process. The series is being produced by award-winning Goodbye Pictures, whose credits include Project Runway.
Introducing the series, Jenkins and Goodbye said Design Reimagined will bring “premium content to the home category on YouTube with cinematic, 4K production and Jenkins’ honest insights, expert guidance, and accessible design inspiration”.
Season One—comprising seven episodes—documents the transformation of a luxury Upper East Side apartment for a mother and her two daughters. Each episode walks viewers through the design process room-by-room, culminating in a final reveal. Along the way, Jenkins shares real-world budgets, timelines, and design challenges, with practical tips viewers can apply in their own homes.
The first episode briefly introduces Jenkins’ childhood love of comic book heroes who inspired him to rise above bullying and setbacks. “I was an unpopular kid in elementary school and junior high,” Jenkins recalls, “I was constantly bullied by my classmates. Reading Marvel and DC comics transported me to another world and gave me the courage to face my own villains at school.”
Re the series, Jenkins said: “For decades, design shows and TV networks have oversimplified our craft. Design Reimagined sets the record straight with transparency, heart, and humour. It’s design storytelling at its most honest—and most inspiring.”
The series, inspired by Jenkins’ second Rizzoli coffee table book bearing the same title releasing this September, is the first time an AD100 designer has wedded premium streaming content to a high-end, luxury interior design publication.
The show also includes leading brands such as Ann Sacks, Arteriors, Gracie, JennAir, Kohler, Kallista, Kravet, Robern, Stearns & Foster among others.
The first 13-minute episode launched on the Corey Damen Jenkins YouTube channel on May 16, and so far has racked up 23,000 views.
