Cold Glass Productions has appointed Rebecca Frank as client director and James Nelson as partnerships director as the UK entertainment producer seeks to expand its client base and develop new content franchises.
The appointments strengthen the company’s senior team and will support its work with existing clients and commercial partners. They were announced by Cold Glass founders Sam Cocker, Ben Kerr, Mark Rivers and Tom Young.
Frank will lead Cold Glass’s relationship with Waitrose and help oversee the next phase of Dish from Waitrose, the branded podcast originally conceived and created by the production company. She will also build a client services team working across the company’s growing portfolio of clients and partnerships.
Frank was previously daytime editor and head of production at BBC Radio 1. She subsequently became content director at Bauer Media Group, where she oversaw content, commercial and talent strategy for the KISS Network.
“I’ve spent my career between great content and commercial ambition, and Cold Glass sit perfectly at that sweet spot,” said Frank. “They are making branded entertainment that audiences love, and crucially have all the energy to build more. Dish from Waitrose is the gold standard, and I can’t wait to keep it that way with this top team.”
Nelson joins Cold Glass with experience in advertising, commercial strategy and brand partnerships. His previous roles include brand partnerships director at JOE and commercial partnerships director at 16NinetyTwo Sports Management. Most recently, he was controller of agency and client sales at ITV.
He will initially focus on developing commercial partnerships around Outsiding, Cold Glass’s new podcast featuring journalist Caitlin Moran and broadcaster and garden designer Adam Frost. His remit will subsequently expand to encompass brand partnerships and other revenue streams across the company’s forthcoming slate.
Cold Glass CEO Ben Kerr said the company had previously worked with Nelson on branded entertainment campaigns for Tesco.
“We have known James since 2019, when we worked together on branded entertainment for Tesco,” Kerr said. “They were some of the most complex campaigns we’ve ever delivered, and James was brilliant at bringing together producers, commercial teams and the client to make them happen.”
Kerr added: “He’ll bring that experience to Cold Glass Productions, initially developing commercial partnerships around Outsiding before building brand partnerships and new revenue streams across our new releases. We have a busy 18 months coming up and are actively looking for brand partners for upcoming shows, as well as working on new formats created in response to briefs from commercial partners.”
