The BBC has appointed 26-year-old entrepreneur Brandon Relph to its strategy team, in a move aimed at helping the broadcaster strengthen its appeal among younger audiences.
On LinkedIn, Relph is described as “part of the group strategy & transformation team working on pan-BBC strategy, as well as the strategy lead for BBC News”.
Relph joins the BBC from Accenture, where he is a growth futurist working with C-suite executives and boards on growth opportunities and entrepreneur-led strategies.
A serial entrepreneur, Relph founded his first company at the age of 13 and went on to establish Nile, a technology media company that developed a ‘Netflix for teens’ proposition. He has also worked across technology, media and marketing ventures.
Relph’s appointment comes as the BBC seeks to adapt to changing media consumption among younger viewers, with YouTube, TikTok and other creator-led platforms playing a core role in how audiences discover and consume content.
