AMC Global Media – UK has announced the launch of a dedicated free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel for The Walking Dead Universe in the UK, marking the franchise’s debut as a live, continuous streaming channel in the market.

The channel is scheduled to launch in early June across UK FAST platforms and will be available without a subscription. At launch, programming will include The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead.

According to the company, the new channel is intended to provide a lean-back viewing experience, allowing audiences to access content through a continuously programmed stream rather than on-demand navigation.

The launch comes amid continued growth in the FAST sector. AMC Global Media – UK cited research from Rakuten TV indicating that more than 80% of UK viewers view FAST services as either a primary way to watch television or a viable alternative to subscription streaming platforms.

Tom Keaveney, managing director and EVP, AMC Global Media – UK, said: “The Walking Dead Universe has one of the most passionate fanbases in television, and FAST lets us open that world up to everyone. Launching this channel reflects our broader strategy to meet viewers wherever they are with access to premium content across free, ad-supported environments. Widening access and discovery alongside our continued investment in broadcast television are core to our UK business. We are making great storytelling free to watch, and easier to find.”

The new offering expands AMC Global Media – UK’s existing FAST portfolio, which currently includes AMC Reality, AMC Cupid, Bloodline Detectives, Evidence of Evil and Love After Lockup.

Platform partners for the Walking Dead Universe FAST channel have not yet been announced. AMC Global Media – UK said further details regarding the UK rollout of The Walking Dead Universe will be shared in the coming weeks.
