Next-gen indie Particle6 has announced that industry veteran Tom Davidson is to become its first chief commercial officer, following a period as a consultant.

As Particle6’s CCO, he will work closely with founder and CEO Eline van der Velden to turbocharge the business’s development to support its ambitious expansion plans – both domestically and internationally. Specifically, he is responsible for devising and implementing commercial strategies to build on its rapidly developing reputation as a leader in AI production, creating scalable models and pricing structures that maximise not only the team’s expertise as a creative resource and business partner but also its proprietary AI tools that help with workflows and production management.

Davidson has worked in the international TV industry for 30 years, holding various senior management roles, including general manager of Sony Pictures Networks and Managing Director of A+E Networks UK. Particle6 said he brings “deep expertise in launching and scaling businesses, having played pivotal roles in the introduction and expansion of HBO in Central Europe, Sony Pictures Networks in Central Europe and Russia, and the growth of A+E Networks’ portfolio across much of EMEA.”

Davidson said: “Through my time as a consultant with Particle6, I have been hugely impressed with Eline and her team and their vision for the future. She has grown the company by being proactive and fully embracing the incredible opportunities that AI creates. As a result, the business has become a go-to company for advice and support in the industry, while also developing numerous AI-led projects of its own.”

Van der Velden added: “As a consultant, Tom’s advice and insight added so much value to our business that it was a natural next step to invite him to become our CCO – especially as his drive and enthusiasm for the future match my own. Tom will be a steady hand on the rudder, ensuring we make the best decisions for the business.”
