Acamar expands Bing’s YouTube offering with sensory mini-series

Acamar Films has expanded its digital programming for younger children with Bing: Sensory Time!, a mini-series built around gently paced sensory exploration.

The format is rolling out on the Bing YouTube channel, initially in the UK with further territories to follow, and on Acamar’s Again! Again! channel. The first episode dropped ahead of Halloween, with subsequent videos released every other week.

Developed with support from Bing’s early years educational consultant, Natascha Crandall, the series encourages children to look, listen, move, anticipate and respond. Acamar says the episodes are designed to support early skills including attention, communication and physical coordination.

Activities include popping bubbles, listening to animal sounds and watching the character Hoppity Voosh dream about floating stars. The format is intended for parents to watch with their youngest children.

Mikael Shields, CEO of Acamar Films and producer of Bing, positioned the launch as an extension of the company’s approach to age-appropriate pacing, rather than a response to platform algorithms. “We believe that meeting the needs of the audience is more meaningful than trying to second-guess any algorithm, so Bing broadcast episodes are produced at an age-appropriate pace,” he said.

“With Bing: Sensory Time!, we’re extending the world of Bing even further into a new gentler viewing experience for our youngest audience members.”

The series will also feature in the Early Years playlists on Again! Again!, which Acamar describes as a global channel built around public service values.

Crandall said: “By creating programming that is designed to help children explore new ideas without being overstimulated, they are able to explore at their own pace and process information in a way that works best for them.”
