YouTube titan Jimmy ‘MrBeast Donaldson has officially announced the second season of his Amazon Prime Video reality series Beast Games. Commenting via X, he said the new series will launch on January 7 2026, with the first three episodes dropping at once and then weekly releases until a grand finale on February 25.
This season will bring together 200 elite competitors (100 of the strongest and 100 of the smartest) to battle for a $10 million prize pool, doubling the stakes of the first season. It will be hosted in a massive purpose-built city (pictured) that Donaldson revealed on X – complete with swimming pools, sports courts, lounges and dedicated arenas.
Season two looks like an expansion in scale – despite the fact that Donaldson recently admitted that he lost “tens of millions of dollars” of his own money on season one. He framed the loss as a necessary trade-off: “For me, it was about making season one as good as possible … I can’t let the YouTube community down.”
With its global audience reach and vast second season set piece, Beast Games continues to blur the line between creator-driven ambition and Hollywood-scale production. However the show also illustrates the high-risk, high-reward nature of digital-native creators translating their vision into streaming platforms.
