Brewing giant Heineken has launched what it calls its “first-ever original digital mini-series”. Called Praise the Bar, the YouTube-first series is described as “a heartfelt tribute to the pubs and bars that bring people together.”
Produced in collaboration with local pub and bar owners and their customers across eight countries, the eight-episode series blends documentary-style storytelling with cinematic flair, spotlighting real pubs and bars, real people, and the unforgettable moments that happen when people get together and say cheers.
“Pubs and bars are at the heart of communities across the world. There is no feeling quite like walking into your local, whether that’s for a quiet drink, meeting friends, or taking part in the pub quiz – they are places where memories and friends are made. At Heineken, we are proud to help ignite these stories: one beer, one connection at a time,” said Joanna Price, chief corporate affairs officer at Heineken.
Heineken said it has backed bars and pubs in all kinds of ways; investing in local venues, supporting owners through challenging times, and celebrating the role these spaces play in our communities. It said Praise the Bar is a natural next step, shining a light on the stories and connections that make bars so meaningful to people.
The series kicks off in London at The Gun “a historic pub where stories of friendship, family, and football unfold”. Episodes based in the Netherlands and Spain will follow in December 2025. Next year the focus is on Vietnam, Mexico, South Africa, Brazil and Ireland.
