US-based franchise agency Cookbook Media has been appointed as content and consumer products distribution representative in North America for ChuChu TV, a digital first kids brand that has around 175 million subscribers on YouTube.
Echoing the success of CocoMelon, ChuChuTV has grown to become a preschool phenomenon since its launch in 2013 as a nursery rhyme channel. Cookbook is planning to introduce the new strategic partnership at MIPCOM next month.
Claudia Scott-Hansen, co-founder Cookbook Media, said: “ChuChu TV is a groundbreaking global success story that has captured the hearts of children and families everywhere. We are honoured to bring their beloved characters and rich content library into new places to watch and engage with the brand even further.”
“We are in the golden age of fandom, and consumers have so many ways to show their love for favourite brands and characters,” added Rob Bencal, co-founder and partner, Cookbook Media. “This is the perfect moment to expand ChuChu’s reach.”
Vinoth Chandar, founder and creator, ChuChu TV, said: “We see tremendous opportunity to connect with children and families in North America through new formats, consumer products and experiences, and we are excited to work with Claudia and Rob to bring these dreams to life.”
