Digital-first studio TheSoul Publishing and mobile tech company Playkot have launched SHRT, a mobile app dedicated to vertical drama. Available on iOS and Android, SHRT delivers short-form, episodic storytelling tailored for mobile audiences.
With SHRT, TheSoul Publishing said it is “bringing its expertise in scalable, data-driven production to this emerging space”. The app features more than 30 complete English-language series, with new dramas added weekly. Each series is developed in-house or in collaboration with global content partners.
“Minute-long, episodic dramas are attracting millions of viewers, with the market predicted to be worth an astounding $14 billion by 2027 according to The Guardian,” said Victor Potrel, VP of external strategy at TheSoul Publishing. “Vertical drama isn’t just a trend, it’s episodic television for the mobile generation.”
To power the user experience, TheSoul has partnered with Playkot, whose mobile-first platform provides the infrastructure behind SHRT’s performance and backend operations. “Vertical drama is one of the most exciting developments in mobile entertainment, and we’re thrilled to help bring it to life through SHRT,” said Alexander Pavlov, co-Founder and CEO of Playkot. “Our goal was to ensure the app performs flawlessly and delivers the kind of immersive experience today’s audiences expect.”
