BBC Studios and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) have co-commissioned four new short-form series based around preschool phenomenon Bluey. The four series are all inspired by core themes from the franchise.
According to the partners, all four series will air on ABC iview in Australia, Disney channel in the US and Disney+ globally. They are also available for viewers to watch on the Official Bluey channel on YouTube, and soon on Disney Jr. YouTube.
First up on the Official Bluey channel on YouTube is Bluey Tunes. In this series, which blends stop-motion, animation, and graphics, families can sing and dance along to music videos set to tracks from the show in bite-sized episodes (1–2 minutes each).
Also coming through is Bluey Puppets, a craft series where viewers follow the creation of some of their favourite characters from Bluey. Each of the episodes (3–5 minutes each) includes a downloadable craft sheet so families can recreate the fun at home.
There are also two food-focused series – Bluey Cookalongs and Bluey Fancy Restaurant – which celebrate mealtime fun, family togetherness, and laughter. In Bluey Cookalongs (10 x 5-minutes), kids take the lead in the kitchen – often with hilarious results – while their parents do their best to keep things on track.
Filmed across Australia, Bluey Fancy Restaurant invites kids to recreate Bluey and Bingo’s iconic Fancy Restaurant at home for their parents – each with their own unique take. This 10-episode series (5-8 minutes each) features real families as kids whip up culinary creations and guide their grownups through a playful dining experience.
