Tresor Productions, the German unscripted production company owned by Keshet International, has licensed the rights to produce a German adaptation of celebrity interview format Hot Ones, originally created by Chris Schonberger from First We Feast. The format originally came to fame on Buzzfeed, which sold First We Feast to a consortium of investors for $82.5m at the end of last year.
Working with Endgame Entertainment, Tresor Productions is co-producing and publishing up to 20×30’ German episodes of the interview show before the end of this year. The first episode drops exclusively on YouTube this evening. The production is supported by Uber Eats as a sponsor, brought on board by InSocial Media.
Hot Ones Germany is executive produced by Tresor’s Axel Kühn and Endgame’s Marvin Endres alongside showrunner Daniel Zobel (X Factor, Dancing with the Stars). Each episode will be hosted by celebrated live comedian EMMVEE (pictured), a charming provocateur with a unique talent for improvisation.
Axel Kühn, Managing Director at Tresor Productions, said Hot Ones “has always been a special format to us. The seemingly simple idea of eating insanely spicy chicken wings during an interview has taken celebrity conversations to a whole new level. We’re proud to be producing the German version exclusively for YouTube – together with Endgame Entertainment and inSocial Media.”
Marvin Endres, managing director at Endgame Entertainment, added that the show “isn’t just an interview show – it’s a pop culture event. We’re finally bringing this global hype to Germany, combining deep conversations with real thrills. Together with Tresor TV and our agency Endgame Entertainment, we’re creating a stage where stars truly burn – in the best way. Thanks to our partners at inSocial Media, we’re also delivering creative brand integrations that feel seamless and organic.”
Keren Shahar, CEO of Keshet International, commented: “Congratulations to Axel and the team at Tresor for putting together a local version of this iconic format. I’m looking forward to us doing more of this type of branded content going forward. ”
Hosted by Sean Evans, First We Feast’s 27 seasons and more than 360 episodes of Hot Ones US have been watched over 2.6 billion times worldwide, with individual episodes featuring A-list celebrities like Dakota Johnson, Gordon Ramsay, Jennifer Lawrence, Billie Eilish, Shaquille O’Neal attracting up to 100 million views. With 14.8 million YouTube subscribers on First We Feast, cult status has been established thanks to celebrity memes, social media reactions and international headlines.
