Former VaynerMedia MD Baumann takes a walk on The Wild side

Digital-first publisher and producer Jungle Creations has appointed Sarah Baumann as the new managing director of its fast-growing social agency The Wild.

The news was dropped by Jungle Creations’ co-CEO Melissa Chapman, who said:: “As the agency enters its new chapter of growth, I couldn’t think of anyone better to lead it forward than Sarah, who comes with a wealth of experience. From the moment I first spoke to Sarah about the ambition moving forward, I was blown away by her big ideas, appetite for innovation and overall expertise in the space.”

Baumann (pictured) was previously MD of VaynerMedia and before that deputy CEO at Leo Burnett. Commenting on her appointment via LinkedIn, she said: “I am super excited to be joining The Wild. The Wild is a young, super-ambitious social-first agency built on an innate understanding of how creators, community and content fuel brands. The ambition for the next few years is huge. I can’t wait to work with the team.”

The Wild was launched in 2019 and has built a client base that includes the likes of MLB, GSK, The National Lottery and Heinz. Chapman said: “We’ve got some huge plans for the next few years, including continued work with our roster of fab clients, as well as new product development as we leverage the power of Jungle Creations’ 145 million+ audience and innate understanding of social – think AI, creators & more.”

Chapman and Baumann praised the work done by former managing director of The Wild Dylan Davenport in building “a brilliant team, wonderful clients and great work”. Davenport left to become EVP brand at Weber Shandwick in September 2022.
