Social media star Brittany Broksi has launched a digital-first celebrity talk show format called Royal Court. Revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone, the news series kicks off on YouTube today (July 20) with special guest musician Orville Peck.
Although the show sits firmly in the popular culture camp, Broksi has given the format design a Game Of Thrones-style twist. In each episode, featured guests go through a series of challenges in a bid to win a place on Broski’s ‘medieval council.’
The launch of Royal Court is part of a growing trend which sees leading creators attempting to build recognisable franchises. Speaking to Rolling Stone, she said: “When you’re a creator like me, and you’re at this level and able to create a rapport with people, how do you take that and build something for yourself?”
Broksi initially broke out as a TikTok star but has burnished her interviewing credentials through podcasting and red carpet interviews. She told Rolling Stone that she wants to take “the viral-clip nature of the internet and give you a show of 100 of those moments.” As yet there are no details on future Royal Court guests.
