WTFN’s digital arm Radar has launched a new YouTube channel based on Canadian producer Omnifilm’s factual series Ice Pilots. This is the second Omnifilm series Radar now manages on the platform, following on from the launch of Jade Fever in February this year. The announcement brings Radar’s network to 22 channels.
Based in the Canadian Northwest Territories, Ice Pilots follows the Buffalo Airways team as they the navigate daily challenges of flying WW2 propellor aircraft in freezing conditions. The series tells stories of skilled pilots and rookies navigating extreme weather and terrifying engine issues to deliver supplies to remote communities.

Radar general manager Louisa Emery (pictured) said: “We’re really excited to grow our partnership with Omnifilm and delighted to be able to launch another single IP channel for the company. Ice Pilots has all the ingredients of a successful YouTube channel – high stakes, humour and authentic characters doing crazy jobs.”
Omnifilm executive producer Gabriela Schonbach added: “This series is iconic and historic. Making it was a gruelling experience with the weather conditions. Our small production team was embedded with the Buffalo Air flight crew and dramatic stories faced them every day. We are pleased Ice Pilots will be finding a whole new audience.”
The channel publishes full episodes weekly as well as compilations, clips and Shorts. All told, there are 65 episodes from the series for Radar to work with.
